Sonoma County Pride & Graton Resort & Casino Present “Sunday Friends & Fitness” sponsored by Loud +Clear. Our “Sunday & Friends & Fitness” events are designed to provide an alternative activity & physically active component to Pride, encourage safe socializing, and promote healthy, family-friendly activities.

JUNE 6 – SUGARLOAF STATE PARK HIKE
6.3 Miles Challenging Hike lead by Laurie Lynn Hogan

This 6.3-mile hike will dazzle your senses and challenge your body as we take the scenic back trails to traverse +/- 1600 feet of elevation in a loop trail to and from Bald Mountain Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.

Our guide, Laurie Lynn, grew up hiking Colorados Rocky Mountains with her dad. Today, she brings her lifelong love of hiking to the Epic Trail Challenge, and endurance hike and fundraising event that benefits Santa Rosa Community Health.

JUNE 13 – FAMILY FRIENDLY HIKE at FOOTHILLS PARK
Hosted by North Bay LGBTQI+ Families (Contact: Sal)

10 am-12 pm for at Foothill Regional Park in Windsor

Our All Ages Family Pride Hike will be led by C.L. Teravainen (He/Him), a queer and Trans California Naturalist. A former environmental educator with Sonoma County Regional Parks, C.L. enjoys sharing his love of art and the outdoors with those around him. When not exploring the outdoors he enjoys spending time as a plant and cat dad while working on his own art. C.L. has also facilitated the North Bay LGBTQI Families monthly social and family gathering for gender-expansive youth under 12. Regional Parks staff will be present and available at this event to interact with families, and will bring some nature-related show and tell items from the park for kids to explore. While families should bring water and snacks, there will be some additional light refreshments on hand.

JUNE 20 – PRIDE PADDLE at SPRING LAKE

People with personal boats can come also
Meet at Boat Rental off Violette Dr.

We will have designated picnic tables for Sonoma County Pride between 9 am – 1 pm. Regional Parks is offering 10 boats to rent from 9 am -10 am, and 10 boats to rent from 10 am -11 am. They are also offering to take folks on a tour in Spring Lake discussing various wildlife at the lake. Paddlers in the personal boats are welcome to join the tour. Regional Parks will also display bones and pelts after 11 am for people to touch and learn about wildlife.

JUNE 27 – THERAPEUTIC MOVEMENT at ANDY’S UNITY PARK

Join us for an hour of Somatically Oriented Therapeutic Movement taught by J.T. Bymaster. SOTM is an occupational modality that incorporates aspects of martial arts, qigong, yoga, dance, developmental movement, group process, fitness, and nature connection. This movement practice is intended to awaken and revive our bones, joints, muscles, organs, cardiovascular and nervous systems, as well as challenge our vestibular, proprioceptive, and social senses. SOTM is an adaptive modality and we welcome all body sizes, abilities, and gender expressions.

J.T. Bymaster is a manual, movement, and process-oriented therapist and somatic educator. Certified in California as a massage therapist in 1997 J.T. has studied with many masters and has received many certificates in the fields of martial arts, chi gung, dance, somatics, and manual therapy. Currently, J.T. is a Pre-OT Kinesiology Student at SSU and has completed original research studying the effects of parental motivation on the physical activity levels of their children with disabilities.
